This is a quilt I made for our previous babysitter, Miss Carla.  She was married and left our town to go to Tennessee to live with her new husband.  Barely married, she found out she had breast cancer.  I pieced some of the blocks.  The other blocks were appliquéd with stars (she collects five-pointed stars), hearts and little pockets.  The tag on the back of the quilt reads:

"I'm a comfy, cozy chemo quilt to
keep you company; on days
when you are down and out
and needing somebody.

Just fill my pockets as you will
with loving things you need.  And
when you feel you want some hugs
pull out a letter and read."
